about

Ben McGinley is a video producer, communications expert, and arts documentarian based in Minneapolis, MN. He has over 10 years experience producing video content for broadcast, online, and internal organization platforms. Since graduating with honors and a Bachelor's in Theater Studies and Writing from Emerson College in Boston in 2004, he has built his career around a passion for social service and equity through his work facilitating interactive, issue-based theater programs with GTC Dramatic Dialogues; to date, he has facilitated large group, peer-to-peer discussions on race, gender, privilege, and sexual assault with over 100,000 college students nation-wide. These values have expanded and cultivated a furtive commitment to community, arts, education, and elder care service organizations through his work as a video producer.

As a video producer, Ben has an expanse of experience working within the Twin Cities arts and culture sector, producing video content in partnership with clients such as Pillsbury United Communities, Minnesota Opera, American Swedish Institute, Walker Art Center, the Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District, Lake Street Council, Mu Performing Arts, Music & Memory®, The New Teacher Project, 20% Theatre, Lutheran Home Association, Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, and Minneapolis Public Schools. His intuitive, high quality live performance documentation has contributed to the receipt of prestigious awards from Jerome, McKnight, and Bush Foundations, and advanced the careers of nearly 100 independent artists and companies throughout the country. And from 2011-2013, he served as a writer and editor for Long Haul Productions' hour-long, Emmy-nominated Amsoil Championship Snocross docuseries on NBC Sports and CBS Sports.
